End of year testing and portfolio review

Melissa Hamilton has taught at ELCC since 2012, is a certified Ohio teacher for grades 1-8 and a certified BJU tester.

She holds a BS in Elementary Education from Pensacola Christian College, Pensacola, Florida as well as a Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of West Florida.

Melissa has continued her education by continuing education classes from: The Ohio State University, Walsh University, and Ashland University, to further develop her knowledge in reading difficulties/strategies, writing, science, technologies, and elementary math best practices and strategies.

​She has taught in both public and private schools (10 years) as well as homeschooling her own children for the past 8 years.

Tutoring in Math, Science and ACT Prep

Ellen Chancey has taught at ELCC since 2015 and is a professional, ODE certified tutor with 30 years of experience, and registered with several Jon Peterson Scholarship Providers.

She has worked in private schools for the past 25 years and graduated with a Bachelors of Applied Sciences from Bob Jones University. Ellen has continued her education and is currently pursuing a Masters degree.

Ellen works with students from 3rd grade up to college-age. Although, primarily a math and science tutor, she also has experience in tutoring English, history, and western philosophy. Her base rate is $20-$30 per hour, but offers discounts for multiple students or multiple subjects.

Orton Gillingham Tutoring, Reading and Language Arts Intervention

Jessica Freytag has taught at ELCC since 2015 and is a certified Orton Gillingham Tutor with 15 years experience in the local community, and is registered with several Jon Peterson Scholarship Providers.

She has worked as a private tutor for the past 15 years and graduated with a Bachelors of English from The Ohio State University.

Jessica specializes in helping struggling readers and encourages a LOVE of language arts. Her methods engage the whole child in all learning styles in order to create new connections to language and overcome a variety of challenges.
