Our Vision

Strategic Planning 2022

Thirteen years ago, Excellence in Learning Community Co-op was established to serve the needs of a community of families. Even though we have grown from that small group to a community that has served thousands of families over the years, we still seek to keep that close community of families partnering together in home education.

As we began the next step in our future planning, we underwent a collaborative and community-driven process to develop our next three years' strategic plan. This plan establishes a clear vision for serving our community and fulfilling our mission. It acts as a guide for the future direction of the co-op while building upon past plans with our mission as the cornerstone: We are a community of students and families who desire to glorify God by uplifting, encouraging, equipping, and supporting home-educating families to disciple young men and women of character, influencing the world for Jesus Christ.

The process for this plan was unlike any other and began by focusing on an extensive listening period — gathering feedback in a multitude of ways, such as:

  • Teacher/Director class evaluations

  • Individual interviews with co-op families

  • Strategic posts on social media to encourage engagement and feedback

  • Teacher/Leadership survey January 2022

  • Board member training and strategic planning sessions

  • Member Survey January 2022

  • Coordinator feedback event January 27, 2022

  • Teacher feedback event - Feb 3, 2022

  • Teacher and Parent Idea meeting - February 3, 2022

  • Pop-up "Whiteboard" conversations March 2022

  • Board Commenting and Feedback period May 2022

  • Completion of our 5 year strategic plan June 2022

Our Strategic Plan was based on strong community engagement and input. This benefits the ELCC in five main ways:

  1. Creates a clear vision

  2. Allows the co-op community to drive the future

  3. Determines what is most important to the co-op community

  4. Establishes actionable goals and projects moving forward

  5. Gives opportunities for continued interaction through planned updates and changes

As a living document, this plan is intended to be flexible, adjusting and changing over the next three years as necessary to meet our communities needs. We continue to solicit feedback from our community about how they are benefiting from co-op, how we can improve our existing services, and what we should consider for the future.
